Eligibility

Open to individuals or teams of 2-5 people of any nationality who are 18 years of age or older.

Participants must be able to attend the hackathon event in person.

Employees of the DataVeritas Institute and its affiliates are not eligible to participate.

Project and Submission Requirements

Projects must address the theme of "verifying information in real-time".

Submissions must be made using [insert programming language(s) or technology(ies)].

Projects must include a working demo and a written report explaining its concept, methodology, and results.

All submissions must be original and not have been previously published or entered in any other competitions.

By submitting, teams agree to the terms and conditions outlined in the FactHack 2023 Rules and Regulations.

Prizes

Grand Prize: $10,000

Second Prize: $5,000

Third Prize: $2,500

All finalists will receive a certificate of recognition and a year of free access to the DataVeritas Institute's tools and resources.

Judging Criteria and Winner Selection

Relevance to the theme of "verifying information in real-time".

Originality and creativity of the project.

Technical feasibility and execution.

Potential impact and scalability.

A panel of judges consisting of experts in the fields of data science, technology, and journalism will evaluate all submissions.

The winners will be announced at the conclusion of the hackathon event.

The decision of the judges is final and not subject to appeal.
